No fewer than six persons have been confirmed dead, while fifteen others sustained serious injuries in an auto crash along the Ogbomoso-Odo Oba road, in Ogo Oluwa Local Government Area of Oyo State.
It was gathered that the accident involved a commercial bus and a trailer that were both heading to the northern part of the country.
According to an eyewitness, the driver of the bus lost control of the vehicle while trying to overtake the trailer at a sharp corner.
“The bus veered off the road and somersaulted several times. Five people died on the spot, while others were rushed to the hospital by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) officials,” eyewitness said.
Confirming the incident, the Ogbomoso Unit Commander of the FRSC, Isaac Adebayo, in a statement on Monday, said another person died at the hospital, bringing the death toll to six.
He added that the injured passengers were taken to Bowen University Teaching Hospital, Ogbomoso, for medical attention.
