The suspended chairman of Ijebu East Local Government Area of Ogun State, Wale Adedayo, has regained his freedom from the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS).
Adedayo was detained on Friday after an invitation by the DSS.
Adedayo had accused the state governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, of withholding two years statutory federal allocations due to the 20 local government areas in the state, but the governor has since denied the allegation.
It was learnt that the suspended chairman was grilled for several hours by the DSS officials at the state headquarters in Abeokuta before he was detained and eventually released.
Recall that a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and human rights activist, Femi Falana, had on Sunday asked that DSS to release Adedayo and urged the governor to file a libel suit against the embattled chairman.
