The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, has won the presidential election in Rivers State with a total number of 231,591 votes.
Tinubu defeated the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, who scored a total number of 175,071 votes, to place second.
Atiku Abubarkar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) came third with 88,468 votes.
Tinubu won in 15 out of the 23 local government areas of the state while Obi won in five.
Atiku wins Taraba
Meanwhile, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has won the presidential election in Taraba State.
Announcing the results, the returning officer, who is also the Vice Chancellor of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi, Prof. Muhammed Ahmed Abdul’aziz, said Atiku scored 189, 017 votes.
He said Peter Obi of the Labour Party came second with 146, 315 votes while Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) scored 135,165 votes to place third. Rabiu Kwanwaso of NNPP got 12, 818 votes.
