Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has returned to the country after a three-day trip to Madrid, Spain.
On his arrival, Wike fired fresh salvo at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Chairman, Sen Iyorchia Ayu, saying the attempt to deny the allegations he made against him was baseless.
Wike dared Ayu to give account of how the money he allegedly collected on behalf of the party was spent.
He also faulted the controversial comment credited to PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, in Kaduna.
Speaking at an event organised by the Arewa Joint Committee on Saturday, Atiku said: “I think what an average northerner needs, is somebody who is from the North, who also understands the other parts of Nigeria, and who has been able to build bridges across the rest of the country. This is what the northerner needs. Northerner doesn’t need a Yoruba or an Igbo candidate. This is what the northerner needs. I stand before you as a pan-Nigerian of northern origin.”
But Wike said Atiku ought to build bridges across the country and called on PDP to apologise to Nigerians over the comment.
