The Grand Council of Yoruba Youths(Agbarijo Egbe Odo Yoruba) has congratulated the Olubadan of Ibadan land, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Saliu Adetunji, Aje Ogungunniso I, on the occasion of his 93rd birthday.
A statement signed on Friday by the Aare Apapo (President – General) of the group, Comrade Awa Bamiji, said Oba Adetunji’s reign has brought tremendous development and peaceful atmosphere to Ibadan land.
“We couldn’t do otherwise than to continue thanking God Almighty for having you as present Olubadan of Ibadan land and continue celebrating you while you are still alive.
“Esin Oba a je oko pe o. Kabiyesi, Irukere a di okinni, Igba Odun, Odun kan,” Awa said.
The group congratulated the Chief of Staff to Lagos State Governor,Mr Tayo Ayinde, and Speaker, Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye, who recently clocked 57 and 49 years respectively.
“God Almighty has been so faithful to both of you and by so doing, He has been putting your enemies to shame.
“Your political achievements are worthy of emulation; it’s on this note, we join millions of your families, friends and associates across the globe to say ‘many happy returns,” he said.
The youths also congratulated Chief Akin Oluwadare on his installation as one of the chiefs in Aramoko- Ekiti, Ekiti State.
Meanwhil, the group has mourned the deaths of the immediate past Chairman, Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC), Sen. Biyi Durojaiye; Brigadier-General Adetunji Olurin (rtd), former military governor of old Oyo State, and Rear Admiral Abiodun Olukoya (rtd) former military governor of old Ondo State.
“You all had left indellible ink in the sands of time. May your gentle souls rest in peace,” the President- General said.
