Minister of State for Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, has purchased the All Progressives Congress (APC) nomination and expression of interest forms for the 2023 presidential election.

Nwajiuba obtained both forms on Wednesday in Abuja after a group, Project Nigeria, reportedly paid the N100 million fees.

Nwajiuba, who is from Imo State, was appointed Minister of State for Education by President Muhammadu Buhari in August 2019.

His entrance into the presidential race comes as the ongoing nationwide strike embarked upon by the  Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) entered day 72.

According to a new guideline by the APC, all political appointees who are seeking  to contest for any position are to resign at least 30 days before the conduct of the primaries slated for May.
