The candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon Akeem Adeyemi, aka Skimeh, has been declared as the winner of the Afijio, Atiba, Oyo East, Oyo West Federal Constituency election held on Saturday.
Announcing the results, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared that polled 34,822 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Kamil Akinlabi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who got 31,621 votes.
Adeyemi currently represents Atiba, Oyo East, Oyo West Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Abuja.
Also, Olamijuwonlo Alao-Akala, the son of late former Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala, has been declared winner of Ogbomoso North, Ogbomoso South, Oriire Federal Constituency election.
Olamijuwonlo is the candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the just concluded national assembly election.
The Returning Officer the Federal Constituency, Prof. Hakeem Olanrewaju Salami announced that the APC candidate scored 33,268 votes to defeat the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Olufemi Onireti, who polled 27,126 votes.
“I declare Olamijuwonlo Akala winner of Ogbomoso/North/South/Oriire Federal Constituency having polled the total number of 33,268 votes while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidates Olufemi Onireti polled 27,126 votes,” Prof Salami said.
Reacting, Olamiju said: “I’m so excited. I will not disappoint the people of Ogbomoso and my constituents who voted for me. I’m so grateful to them all.”
Meanwhile, Dr Anthony Adebayo Adepoju of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been declared winner of the Ibarapa North, Ibarapa Central Federal Constituency election.
Adepoju, aka Ibarapa Kan, defeated the current lawmaker representing the federal constituency, Hon Muraina Ajibola.
Announcing the result, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Returning Officer said Adepoju polled 12,884 to defeat other candidates.
