The State Working Committee (SWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State has announced the suspension of some party leaders in Ganduje ward, who had earlier suspended its national chairman and former governor of the state, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje.
Newspeakonline had earlier reported that the leadership of the party at Ganduje ward, in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State, suspended the APC National Chairman, Ganduje, citing corruption charges filed against him.
While reading the resolution of the ward leadership, the legal adviser, Malama Haladu Gwanja Ganduje, stated that the party had to take the decision for posterity sake.
But addressing a press conference on Monday, APC chairman in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area, Inusa Suleiman Dawanau, said those behind the act were caught in anti-party activities, with records of their meetings with the ruling NNPP exposed.
He added that those behind the move have been suspended from the party.
Also, the SWC has suspended the APC leadership in Ganduje ward for six months and set up a panel to verify several allegations against them.
The state chairman of the party, Abdullahi Abbas, said the decisions of the local government party leaders had been adopted.
“We have evidence of meetings between the state government officials and those that suspended the national chairman, and the state working committee has agreed to sanction them for six months and they stand suspended,” the chairman told newsmen.
