Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has ordered the forfeiture of a property belonging to a member of House of Representatives, Sani Dan-Galadima, who stood surety for Faisal Maina, son of Abdulrasheed Maina, former Chairman, defunct Pension Reformed Task Team.
At Thursday’s sitting, Justice Abang, in a committal proceeding ordered Dan-Galadima, representing Kaura-Namoda Federal Constituency of Zamfara State, to forfeit the property used as bail bond for Faisal.
Faisal has fled to the United States of America, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has said.The EFCC’s Counsel, Mohammed Abubakar, told Justice Abang at the resumed hearing of the case.
Abubakar said from the information at the disposal of the anti-graft agency, Faisal sneaked to the USA through the Republic of Niger.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Faisal was granted a N60 million bail with a surety in like sum who must be a serving member of the House of Representatives.
