The former executive chairman, Oluyole Local Government, Prince Ayodeji Abass-Aleshinloye (MDII), has urged Muslim Ummah to carry on with the principles and teachings of the holy month of Ramadan, which are perseverance, sacrifice, love, peace,kindness, compassion and peaceful co-existence.
In a statement released through his media office, Abass-Aleshinloye congratulated Muslim faithful for the successful completion of the Ramadan.
“It is only when the principles of the season are sustained beyond Ramadan that the fasting period can be given its true meaning.
“During Ramadan, which is one of the important pillars of Islam,we are obliged to fast,shun evil actions,speak right and show love to one another
“I appeal to Nigerians to rise against the odds by keeping prejudices and intolerance aside for the growth and development of the country.
“Above all,we should not draw back in our devotion to Allah,which is the ultimate of our faith,” he said.
The former ALGON chairman urged Muslims in the country to use the Eid-el-Fitri to reflect on their spiritual life as individuals and how they can contribute more meaningfully towards the unity and progress of Nigeria.
