The B zone of Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) has said there is no investment in women that is too much or a waste.
A statement signed by the Zonal Vice Chairperson, Adeola Adekunle, and Zonal Secretary, Adeola Adewole, to commemorate the 2024 International Women’s Day celebration, said investing in women will accelerate the desired progress in the nation.
According to the statement, the role of women in national development cannot be overemphasised as they are saddled with enormous tasks, both at the home front and work place.
It called on government and all relevant stakeholders to join hands in investing on women’s education, healthcare, economic empowerment and leadership development to accelerate progress towards gender equality.
NAWOJ congratulated women on this year’s celebration, for their resilience and commitment towards nation building.
International Women’s Day was established to honour women and their existence after years of oppression.
