A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State, Alh. Bisi Olopoeyan, had denied having any link with the crisis that happened in Iwo Road area of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, on Wednesday.
Speaking on Situation Room, a Fresh 105.9FM programme, on Thursday, Olopoeyan said he just arrived from Lagos where he has been for the past few days.
While speaking on the same programme earlier, the chairman of Park Managers System in Oyo State, Mukaila Lamidi, aka Auxiliary, had fingered the PDP chieftain in the crisis.
“The aye boys at the house of Bisi Olopoeyan are the ones that attacked traders. It wasn’t the phone sellers that fought, it was the cult members at the house of Alhaji Bisi Olopoeyan that opened fire. They even engaged the soldiers last night. They are behind the complex and we’ve told government to go and send them away…my boys aren’t responsible for the mayhem,” Auxiliary said.
But Olopoeyan said he did not know anything about what happened at Iwo Road.
He said: “I am just coming back from Lagos. I went to Lagos to do my eyes. My appointment was two days ago and I stayed behind.
How can they be my boys. Somebody just called me now that Auxiliary said I was responsible. That’s what they are looking for- himself and Seyi Makinde.
“They wanted to rope me. Am I the one that went to Eruwa to kill someone? Am I also the one that killed someone on Ogbomoso road? When he picked Auxiliary, we warned Makinde then but he didn’t listen..he is looking for who to rope. Is it me that he will rope? Am I selling phone?
“I don’t have boys ..who are the boys they arrested that mentioned my name.
Someone that should have arrested since yesterday. He was there ..is that not his photo on facebook? How can somebody be thinking like that. After doing everything for the government, you’re now looking for who to rope. God will judge them.”
