The Social Democratic Party (SDP) governorship candidate in Osun state for the September 22 election, Senator Iyiola Omisore has congratulated Muslims in the state on this year’s Eid el Kabir celebrations .
Senator Omisore in a Sallah message issued by his media team tasked Muslims in and across Osun state to use the occasion of the celebration to pray and commit the state in the hands of Allah so that a sincere and patriotic leader would emerge.
The SDP standard bearer and a former deputy governor of the state disclosed that as the governorship polls is just few weeks away, there is the need for the people to seek divine intervention for a “free, fair, crisis free and acceptable governorship election”.
“Let me use this period to congratulate our Muslim leaders, the Imams, Alfas and the entire Muslim fateful for witnessing this year’s Eid El Kabir celebrations. The period, no doubt, is an holy one to move closer to the Almighty Allah and as well seek God’s favour for our dear state most especially on the September, 22 governorship election,” he said.
Senator Omisore stressed that the lessons of Eid el Kabir, which is obedience and trust in Allah, should continue to be the guiding principles for the people of Osun state at a period when they are about to decide who runs the affairs of the state for the next four years.
“As we are fast approaching the governorship election in our dear Osun state, I am again urging our people, particularly the political class to play the game according to the laid down rules and regulations guiding the conduct of the election.
The governorship hopeful asked Muslims and the religious leaders to remember in their prayers those on hajj and leaders at home.
Senator Omisore assured the prople of the state that if elected governor, he would embark on people-oriented policies and take the welfare of the civil servants seriously.
