The National Working Committee (NWC) of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has confirmed the resignation of Senators Abdullahi Adamu and Iyiola Omisore as National Chairman and National Secretary respectively.
In a post on its official Twitter handle on Monday, APC said Sen Abubakar Kyari, the Deputy National Chairman (North) has taken over the leadership of the party.
“The Deputy National Chairman (North), Sen. Abubakar Kyari & Deputy National Secretary, Barr. Festus Fuanter, on Monday, assumed office as acting National Chairman & acting National Secretary respectively following the resignation of Sen. Abdullahi Adamu & Sen. Iyiola Omisore,” the post read.
Meanwhile, the new leadership of the party has postponed the National Caucus and National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting earlier scheduled to hold on July 18th and 19th.
Briefing journalists after the NWC meeting on Monday, acting National Chairman, Kyari, announced the postponement of the meetings, adding that a new date will be communicated in due course.
