A group of pro-Buhari protesters on Thursday held a solidarity rally in support of President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja, to counter the on-going “Resume or Resign” protests by another group.
The pro-Buhari protest was organised by the Center for Civil Soceity and Justice and Coalition for Good Governance and Change Initiative Nigeria.
The protesters had placards with various inscriptions such as ‘Buhari, Osinbajo: We Are Fully with You’, ‘Our President Is Recuperating’, ‘God Has Healed Nigeria, Glory Be To God’, ‘Nigerians Are United For President Buhari’ and ‘Nigerians Endorsed Buhari Anti Corruption War’.
A leader of the group, Goodluck Obi said the president has not violated any section of the constitution as he had transferred power to the Acting President.
The “Resume or Resign” protesters led by entertainer, Charly Boy and Concerned Nigerians’ Deji Adeyanju, have been sitting out since Monday.
They are currently in Day 4 of a protest they have vowed to continue despite the police clamping down on them in Tuesday.
The president has been receiving medical attention in the United Kingdom since May 7.
