The senator representing Oyo South, Dr Kola Balogun, on Saturday, voted at his Alli Iwo Compound, in Ibadan North East Local Government.
Speaking after casting his vote, Balogun lamented the low turnout of voters.
He, however, attributed the low turnout to attacks on All Progressives Congress (APC) members in the last 48 hours.
He said: “Voters are reluctant to come out because of the needless attacks on our members in the last 48 hours. Hoodlums also sent our agents from polling units in some areas around Gate and Agugu but security agents rose up to the situation and dislodged them. Now that there is peace and stability, our people have started coming out. And this will continue till the end of the voting exercise.”
