The Edo state government has declared Thursday, October 20, 2016 a public holiday for the crowning of Prince Eheneden Erediauwa.
The government said the public holiday is to give Edo people the opportunity to partake in the historic installation of the new Oba of Benin.
In fulfillment of the coronation rights of the Benin kingdom, the crown Prince on Tuesday, visited Useh Village in Egor local government area, to choose the name he will bear as king.
The climax of the rites is set to take place at the Urhokpota hall in Benin city, the Edo state capital, where the chosen name will be made public on Thursday October 20, 2016
Eheneden who arrived with his royal entourage was received with a rousing welcome from a large crowd, who showered praises on him.
