Enugu State governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, has dropped three commissioners in a minor cabinet reshuffle announced on Thursday.
Those affected were Godwin Udeuhele, Charles Ndukwe and Smart Ogbe, Commissioners of Information, Youth and Sports and Inter-governmental Affairs.
Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Uwakwe Abugu, confirmed the development to journalists in Enugu on Thursday, saying that it was the first step by the governor to reshape his cabinet for effective delivery of good governance to the people.
The two commissioner nominees earlier screened by the state House of Assembly were sworn in during the state executive council meeting.
They are: Ogbuagu Anikwe, who takes over as Commissioner for Information and Joseph Udedi, the new Commissioner for Youth and Sport.
Until his appointment, Anikwe was the chairman, editorial board of Business Day Newspaper and had worked at various times with the Guardian and Daily Times newspapers.
Donatus Ani, the third commissioner nominee also cleared by the assembly, was absent during the event.
