Former anchor of popular TV game show, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire (WWTBAM), Frank Edoho, is returning to TV with a new show.
Edoho quit WWTBAM after the show went off air in June and later announced a September return without Edoho and sponsor MTN.
The producer of the show, Ultima Limited had during the week hinted that Edoho may not return as host for the show which kicks off again on Sunday September 3, 2017, saying it was an amicable settlement.
Edoho had explained that disagreement in negotiations with Ultima, producer of WWTBAM, made him quit the show.
On Twitter this evening, the popular TV man announced that he is coming back next year with a new show, the Nigerian version of THE PRICE IS RIGHT.
Sharing the news with his fans and supporters, he wrote: “I forgot I haven’t told you yet. I’m proud to inform you wonderful followers that I am the new host of the Nigerian version of THE PRICE IS RIGHT. It starts airing next year. Thanks for your support all the time. Blessings upon you all”.
The Price Is Right, is an American TV show currently being hosted by Drew Carey. It features a wide variety of games and contests where participants guess the prices of everyday retail items. Four contestants, all of whom are seated in one of the wildest audiences in daytime game-show history, are called to the stage to play a preliminary pricing round. That winner joins the host on stage for one of more than 70 different pricing games. After three such games, the contestants spin a big wheel — hoping to get as close to $1 as possible — in the “Showcase Showdown.” The two highest winners of that round advance to the final, where prizes could be cars or roomsful of furniture. A trio of models presents the prizes.
With Edoho as pioneer host, the Nigerian version of the show which is expected to be in Naira, is expected to make huge success, the way WWTBAM did.
WWTBAM is the Nigerian version of a British show with the same name.
