Mark Dayton, the 69 year old governor of Minnesota collapsed during his State of the State address on Monday.
His chief of Staff, Jamie Tincher said in a statement: “Tonight, Gov. Dayton briefly fainted after speaking for about 40 minutes. He quickly recovered, walked out of the Capitol and returned home”.
EMTs on scene performed a routine check on the governor at the Capitol and cleared him to go home. The governor has since returned home to be with his family after EMTs at the scene cleared him after performing a routine check.
His plans to present his 2017 budget Tuesday morning will go on as scheduled, his spokesperson said.
