Oyo State Governor and governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Sen. Abiola Ajimobi, has shot into an early lead in the state as collation of results continues across the 33 local governments. Unofficial results show that he is already in the lead in 20 local governments.
Coming closely second is governorship candidate of Accord party, Sen. Rashidi Ladoja. Chief Adebayo Alao-Akala of Labour Party (LP) is third.
As at the time of filing this report, Ajimobi had taken major councils in Ibadan, the state capital, leading in areas such as Ibadan South West, Ibadan North, Ibadan North West, Ibadan South East and Lagelu.
Ladoja was leading in Ibadan North East, Ona-Ara and Iddo Local governments while Alao-Akala was having a good lead in Ogbomoso
Results received from Oyo and Oke-Ogun area which has 10 local governments, put Ajimobi in the lead.
While casting his votes earlier in the day, Ajimobi, lauded the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the improved process. According to him, INEC had improved greatly on the previous election.
