A middle-aged mentally deranged man, simply identified as Olu, was attacked by angry residents in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, after he allegedly caressed the private part and smooched a married woman.
It was gathered that the incident, which happened on Wednesday around Golf junction, Ogo Oluwa area caused disquiet in the community as passers-by and motorists watched in disbelief.
A married woman(name withheld) was reportedly passing through the area when the mentally deranged man accosted her and poured alcoholic drink on her face which caused her to lose her balance.
An eyewitness, identified herself as Dupe, said: “The mad man was passing through the area when he poured alcohol on the eyes of the married woman, as the woman was struggling to clear her eyes, the mad man forced himself on her and started to finger her private part and smooching her.
“The woman was crying for help before she was rescued from him.
“He was beaten to a pulp and was nearly killed before the police rescued him from the mob and took him away.”
