The governorship candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in Oyo State, Adeshina Adewale, aka Excel, has charged the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Oyo South Senatorial District, Mogaji Joseph Tegbe, to approach the court of law to reclaim his mandate allegedly stolen by the All Progressive Congress (APC).
He said the election that produced Barr. Sharafadeen Ali of the APC was not free, fair and credible.
Recall that Ali, a former Secretary to Oyo State Government, polled 111,513 votes to defeat Tegbe, who scored 92,481 votes.
Speaking in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital on Tuesday, Adeshina noted that the court remains the best place for Tegbe to reclaim his mandate.
According to him, the election was free in some areas in the senatorial district, but the election in Ido/Ibarapa Federal Constituency was marred with various irregularities.
“The result was unfair. How would someone from major city won Ibadan North East/South East, Ibadan North West/South West, Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North, but at the end of the day lose out? So, the result from Ido/Ibarapa East will now decide who win Oyo South Senatorial District?
“INEC should tell Nigerians what happened in Ido/Ibarapa. Can INEC come out and defend the votes that came out from Ido/Ibarapa constituency?
“There were a lot of manipulation of votes in Ido/Ibarapa. They should provide us the total number of accredited voters and the BVAS machines used to capture them.
“Out of five federal constituencies, PDP won three while APC won just two. Unfortunately, the person that won two was declared winner, so I don’t see election of Oyo South Senatorial District as free and fair election,” he said.
