An Argentine referee, César Flores has been reportedly shot dead during match by an aggrieved player he showed a red card.
The incident took place in the Cordoba district. The killer is still on the run.
According to the Mirror, a young player shot the referee after he showed him a red card. The player shot César Flores three times, hitting him in the head, chest and neck.
Furthermore, Walter Zarate, another player, was also hit in the chest by a bullet and was taken to hospital.
The local Police states that the man being sought for the fatal shooting had the gun in his backpack and ran on to the pitch as the game was continuing.
A police spokesman explained: “It all happened during the match. We don’t know what happened with the referee but the player was angry and went to get his gun and killed him.”
The attacker is still at large and being hunted by the police.
