In what appears to be a move to dispel all doubts that he could not travel to the country due to corruption charges, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has left Nigeria for political campaigns in the United States of America.
In 2018, amid talks that he could not visit the US, Atiku had in company of the former Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki and others visited the country.
His latest visit to the US was significant as it banished all the talks that the PDP candidate is wanted in the country.
Atiku is commencing a weeklong electioneering campaign in the US, where he would be meeting Nigerians and business community during the visit.
While in the US, Atiku will meet with Nigerians in Diaspora as well as with PDP members in North America.
He will also meet with top Nigerian business leaders based in the US and with young Nigerian professionals in the diaspora, among others.
Atiku had three weeks ago commenced his electioneering campaign in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. It was followed with campaign rallies in Kaduna and Benin, the Edo State capital.
He is expected back in the country on Monday.
