The Court D’Apeal in Cotonou, Benin Republic, has commenced hearing the extradition case involving Yoruba rights activists, Sunday Adeyemo, aka Sunday Igboho.
It was gathered that many of the supporters who had gathered inside the court premises did not know when the Yoruba rights activist arrived in court.
“Oosa (Igboho) is here. We are about to start the hearing. His case has been called. Everywhere is peaceful but there is tension here,” a source told The Punch
“He is in court with his wife. Hearing will commence shortly,” the National Chairman of Ilana Omo Oodua, Prof Wale Adeniran, was also quoted to have said.
Apart from Igboho’s supporters from Lagos, Yoruba-speaking indigenes in Benin Republic, including monarchs are attending the hearing.
