President Muhammadu Buhari, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, governors and other dignitaries are to grace the 50th remembrance of former Premier in the Western Nigeria, Chief Samuel Ladoke Akintola.
Akintola was Premier between 1959 and 1962. He was murdered on January 15, 1966 during Nigeria’s first military coup which resulted in the assassination of many leading politicians, mostly members of the Northern People’s Congress.
The memorial will come up on Thursday 14 and Friday 15, January, 2016 in Ogbomoso, Oyo state.
The Chairman Planning Committee for the memorial remembrance, Mr. Yemi Adedokun said on Sunday that Former president Olusegun Obasanjo, National leader of APC, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu , Chief Richard Akinjide, Dr Omololu Olunloyo and captains of industries traditional rulers, political top shots and high fliers in the society including business and political associates of the late sage and family are expected to grace the occasion.
The programme will also feature lecture in memory of the former Premier and foundation laying of Samuel Ladoke Akintola Post- graduate building at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAOTECH on Thursday 14, January while he said interdenomination Service will hold at Ladoke Akintola’s Lounge, Oke-Ado, Ogbomoso on Friday.
