The Bodija outlet is the third of Feedwell presence in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company, Mr Steve Okwubi, told newspeak online that addition of the Bodija outlet is part of the company’s expansion plan. He disclosed that mire outlets will join within the next three years.
Speaking through the Retail Consultant to the company, Mr Gbenga Adesina, Okwubi said: “It is part of our expansion plan. We actually stock what other don’t have. Sometimes, people have troubles having to come up to Ajibade to meet us. So, we felt Bodija is central in strategizing. A whole lot of people come to Bodija. We hope to open more branches in the next two to three years.
“This is our third branch. There is one in Ajibade and another in Adamasingba. Here is magnificent and the entrance is very gallant. We don’t just choose places for choosing sake. We took our time to get the choice place that will serve our targeted customers. This branch serves everyone within Ibadan because everyone has one thing or the other to do with Bodija. We carefully chose this new place.”
When asked if Feedwell opened the outlet to give others in the axis a good competition, he said: “Well, competition will come inevitably. We can’t do anything about that. But we have so many of our customers coming from this axis who may be reluctant to come to Mokola area. This is bring the supermarket close to them. Anyway, competition brings alternatives to people and make service providers sit up. So, it is fine. Even if another retail outlet opens here in Bodija, it is okay with us. The sky is wide enough for everyone to fly. But Feedwell is an eagle and the eagle has landed in Bodija this time.”
Apart from stocking what others don’t stock, Okwubi revealed that the new outlet would witness a relaunch of its customer loyalty programme, which he said is the strongest in the city.
“We are the only retail store that sets the pace for customer rewards system. This outlet is having a relaunch of our Feedwell Club card. It is a scheme that permits customers end-point as they purchase.
We have exclusive check-out point for all our honored club members, meaning they don’t have to queue while paying. They can also be part of the top five customers of the month and win lovely gifts. Lots of benefits come from the club card membership.” He said.
