The Emmanuel Alayande College of Education has been shut down indefinitely. Announcing the closure this evening, the Oyo State government said violent protest by students over their welfare necissitated the decision.
A statement by the state Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Adeniyi Olowofela, directed students to vacate the school premises immediately.
Law enforcement agents have been enjoined to secure lives and government property on the college.
Olowofela said that the college would remain closed until normalcy returns.
