A former member of Oyo State House of Assembly, Michael Okunlade, has emerged as chairman of a faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Okunlade emerged during a parallel congress of the aggrieved members of the party, held at Jogor Centre, Ibadan.
Other state officers that were elected unopposed were Hon Matthew Abioye (Deputy Chairman); Mr Abiodun Oyesola (State Secretary); Pa Olawuwo ( Vice Chairman Oyo South); Akeem Ariola (Financial Secretary); Mogaji Bola Akinyemi (Publicity Secretary) and Asiwaju Adekola Adeoye (Youth leader).
Okunlade, in his acceptance speech promised to run an inclusive administratio and work towards the development of the party.
He called on all party faithful to support the new executives, promising not to let down the teeming members of the party in Oyo State.
The leaders of the aggrieved faction at the venue of the congress include a former House of Representative Leader, Mulikat Adeola Akande; Hon Ajibola Muraina; Alhaji Nureni Akanbi; Alhaji Adebisi Olopoeyan; Alhaji Hazeem Gbolarumi; Mr Femi Babalola; Asiwaju Yemi Aderibigbe; Alhaji Gani Dosu; Engineer Kayode Popoola; Hon Demola Omotosho; Princess Aderonke Adedoja among others.
