Former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has distanced himself from the apology issued to Nigerians by Chief Raymond Dokpesi on behalf of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Dokpesi had apologized to Nigerians on Tuesday saying that the party made a mistake fielding former President Goodluck Jonathan as its candidate in he last presidential election.
Dokpesi had said:“We are aware that there were errors we made. We admit that we made mistakes and we have not met the expectations of Nigerians and we tender unreserved apologies for these mistakes.
“You must have seen the Ike Ekweremadu report on why we are apologising.
But Fani-Kayode, who was Director of Media of Jonathan/Sambo presidential campaign organisation, insists that it was never a mistake fielding Jonathan and that an apology was totally unnecessary.
He tweeted this morning: “It was not a mistake for PDP to field Jonathan in the last election and neither is an apology for doing so appropriate or necessary”
