FG warns Nigerians on medical trips abroad over hospitals caught in illegal kidney harvesting

The Federal Ministry of Health has issued a warning to Nigerians embarking on medical tourism through the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA).

The Ministry, in a memo, warned that Nigerians travelling to Egypt for medical care should be aware that some hospitals in the North Afican country have been fingered in illegal human organ harvesting and trafficking.

The letter, titled 41 suspected illegal human kidney traffickers on the trail in Egypt, was signed for the Minister of Health, by the Director for Hospital services, Dr Wapada I. Balami.

The letter revealed that 41 human kidney traffickers have been arraigned by Egptian aithorities. It also listed the indicted hospitals.
