The governor, who was in the company of his deputy, the Speaker of the House of Assembly and other principal officers of his government signed the bill into law at exactly 5:10pm.
Former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje had dethroned Sanusi in 2020, for insubordination.
Yusuf gives sacked Emirs 48 hours to vacate palaces
Meanwhile, the governor has asked the Emirs sacked from office to vacate their palaces within the next 48 hours.
The five Emirs appointed by former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje are the ones mainly affected by the order.
Ganduje had in 2020 split Kano emirate into five and appointed an Emir for each.
Among the newly created emirates were Karaye, Gaya, Bichi and Rano.
But the House of Assembly led by the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), on Thursday repealed the law which Ganduje used to make the changes.
The lawmakers had transmitted the bill to Yusuf who signed it into law on Thursday evening.
Addressing the media after signing the bill into law, Yusuf directed the sacked monarchs to vacate their palaces and hand over to the Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs within two days.
