Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde, has said there is no rancour over the Olubadan chieftaincy laws.
Makinde spoke while playing host to former deputy governor of the state, Alhaji Hazeem Gbolarumi; incumbent deputy governor, Barr Bayo Lawal, cabinet members, top government functionaries and other Muslim faithful at his Ikolaba residence, on Wednesday.
The governor warned “those whose stock in trade is to fan the embers of discord to desist in the interest of the state.”
Makinde said he was yet to receive any official communication from the Olubadan-in-Council on the nomination for the throne.
He wondered why some people were focusing on things that divide the state along traditional lines, saying there is no place for such under his watch.
