OPEC’s top official in Libya kidnapped

Libya’s governor for Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), Samir Salim Kamal has been feared kidnapped in Tripoli, Libya as he has not been seen since Thursday.

An official of the National Oil Company where Kamal works as a senior engineer, was quoted by AFP that:“His friends last saw him on Thursday afternoon as he left the NOC headquarters”

Kamal’s family also say no news has been heard about him since his disappearance. And no one has claimed responsibility for the kidnap.

Libya is one of 12 members of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).
