Oyo 2019: Niyi Akintola Support Group kick off activities in Oke-Ogun

The Oyo State governorship ambition of legal luminary, Niyi Akintola (SAN) has gotten the boost of supporters in Oke-Ogun area of the state.

The supporters, drawn from the 10 local governments in Oke-Ogun, under the aegis of Niyi Akintola Support Group (Oke-Ogun), on Thursday gathered at Aseyin High School, Iseyin to hold their first meeting where they strategized on the campaign ahead of the 2019 election.

Akintola is vying for the governorship on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The group vowed to campaign for him in the entire Oke-Ogun with a view to helping him win the primary election in the 10 local governments in the area as well as in the general election.

The group will work under the broad umbrella of Akintola Campaign Organization.

Coordinator of the Group, Alhaji Waheed Shittu, said members are convinced that Akintola is the best man to succeed Ajimobi in 2019 based in his rich political experience, profile and achievements.

“Having studied his profile , achievements and experience across politics and other areas in life, we believe that Akintola (SAN) is the only person that is capable to hold this very important post in this state. He is the only person that can move Oyo State forward.

“As a progressive minded man, this is the right time for him to be paid back because of his contributions for the sustainability of the progressive party since the Second Republic.” Shittu said.

The Group discussed modalities for future activities to ensure victory for their candidate in the primary and general elections.

Akintola, who has always supported Governor Abiola Ajimobi’s programmes in the state, has promised to sustain the good works done by Ajimobi in the last six years.
