As the local government election in Oyo State draws near, the Executive Secretary of Oyo State Health Insurance Agency (OYSHIA), Dr. Sola Akande, has urged all aspirants to think of health insurance when they get to the office.
The people of Oyo State will on Saturday, April 27, head to the polls to elect chairmen and councillors for the 33 local government areas in the state.
Speaking on a popular radio station in Ibadan at the weekend, Akande said one of the benefits they can give is to get vulnerable people into health insurance.
“I want to encourage our aspirants to think insurance when they get to the office. I want to really challenge them to speak about what they will do as per health insurance because that is the way the world is going now.
“One of the greatest benefits you can do the people in your local government is to get the vulnerable into health insurance.
“Government doesn’t have all the money. There is a way you can get your people to enjoy good health, and it is to put them on health insurance,” he said
