It was a day of reflection on Friday, June 11, 2021, as socio-political group, Coalition for A Better Nigeria, celebrated the 27th anniversary of Epetedo declaration.
In 1994, MKO Abiola declared himself the lawful president of Nigeria in Epetedo area of Lagos Island after the June 12, 1993 presidential election was annulled by the military government of General Ibrahim Babangida.The declaration is what is now known as the Epetedo declaration.
Abiola was the acclaimed winner of the June 12, 1993 presidential election. The election has been adjudged as the freest election ever conducted in the country.
