The Queen of England and Duke of Edinburgh celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary on Friday, November 20. The royals marked the occasion by releasing a photograph of them reading a card made by their great grandchildren.
The Queen was 21 when she walked down the aisle at Westminster Abbey with her adored Philip on November 20,1947 in Buckingham Palace.
Princess Elizabeth and Prince Philip met at the wedding of their cousins and they fell in love five years later.
Princess Elizabeth, the future queen was the 10th member of the Royal family to be married at Westminster Abbey. Prince Philip became the Duke of Edinburgh before the wedding and Princess Elizabeth became Queen five years into their wedding.
Over the years, the couple who have four children and eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren have found balance in their relationship.
