The Nigerian Senate has passed a record 201 bills since it was inaugurated on June 9 2015. A breakdown of the bills shows that 82 senate bills, 29 constitutional alteration bills and 89 concurrence bills have so far been passed by the red chambers of the National Assembly.
It is the highest by any senate in the country since the return of democracy in 1999.
In a tweet this afternoon, Senate President Bukola Saraki thanked his fellow senators “for their hard work and cooperation over the last 33 months”.
His words: “As of today, the Senate has passed 201 Bills. We still have 15 months to go, yet, we have reached this milestone. I would like to thank my Distinguished Colleagues for their hard work and cooperation over the last 33 months.”
