World leading American billionaire, Bill Gates, arrived Kaduna State today to hold talks with Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, and the governors of states in the north.
He signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Dangote Foundation on Routine Immunization.
Among those who received Gates were El-Rufai, Borno, Kashim Shettima (Borno), Mohammed Abubakar (Bauchi), Ibrahim Geidam (Yobe), Aminu Tambuwal (Sokoto) and Umar Ganduje (Kano). the governors, as well as the Emir of Kano, Lamido Sanusi, are all in Kaduna.
The deal is on the provision of amenities that will help improve nutrition of women and children, including displaced persons across Northeast.
Gates’ gesture is coming on the platform of his charity organization, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, which is funding many worthy causes in health, education and others across the world.
Today’s visit is the second to Nigeria within five years.
