Everton have announced Ronald Koeman has been sacked as manager. Everton have been in a poor premier league form this season despite spending £140million in the summer.
With the 5-2 home defeat to Arsenal on Sunday, the club slipped to bottom three on the league table.
Everton issued a statement confirming Koeman’s departure after just nine league matches of this season.
The statement read: “Everton Football Club can confirm that Ronald Koeman has left the club. Chairman Bill Kenwright, the Board of Directors and Major Shareholder Farhad Moshiri would all like to express their gratitude to Ronald for the service he has given to the Club over the past 16 months and for guiding the Club to seventh place in last season’s Premier League campaign.”
The club is yet to announce a replacement but Burnley manager, Sean Dyche emerging as a potential target to replace him.
