Feedwell supermarket, one of the top stores in Ibadan, opened its new outlet at Challenge area of the city on Friday, May 11.
Excited residents of the area could not hide the feeling that the store’s presence there was like a dream come true. They thronged the store and were received by warm, friendly attendants as well as some entertainment by a DJ, dancers, food and cold chocolate drinks
The challenge outlet is the fourth store of Feedwell store in the ancient city. The store is already present in Bodija, Ajibade and Adamasingba.
The supermarket’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr Steve Okwubi, in an interview with Newspeakonline explained that Challenge had always been on his mind but he had to wait for God’s direction.
On how Feedwell will compete favourably with other stores in the area including Pinnacle, Shoprite and Cran, Okwubi said: “We are reputed to be the supermarket that offers the lowest price in Ibadan and we will continue to do that.
“We will also satisfy our customers in terms of the facility and comfort we offer at Feedwell.
The supermarket boss hinted that the store’s next new outlet may be cited in Iwo Road.
Just outside the store was a Promo by companies including Friesland Campina Nigeria, producers of Peak milk , Promisador Nigeria limited, producers of Cowbell milk and PZ Cusson, producers of Nunu Milk. Customers who bought their products got branded gifts like water bottles, exercise books, spoons and free drinks.
One of the shoppers, Mrs Omotayo, who was visiting a Feedwell store for the first time, expressed satisfaction at the conducive environment and the relatively cheaper prices compared to other stores.
Another shopper who did not want his name mentioned said he had just found the idle shopping atmosphere in the Challenge area.
