After tracing his roots back to Igbo land, Nigeria, popular American pastor, author and filmmaker, Bishop T.D. Jakes stepped into the country last week. He was at the House on the Rock church where Pastor Paul Adefarasin and his wife, Ifeanyi Adefarasin, presented him with the National Souvenir “Nigeria: Our Heritage”
Today, Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Mrs. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, took to Twitter to welcome the Bishop to his roots with the revelation that his Igbo name is Kelechi.
She tweeted: Pastor TD Jakes DNA shows he is Nigerian.He got his Igbo name. Kelechi. Great meeting him
“Since tracing his roots back to the Igbo land in Nigeria, it was Bishop T.D. Jakes’ first time stepping on the Nigerian soil, with the knowledge that this is where he truly comes from”, Ifeanyi Adefarasin wrote on Facebook. “It was a special honour for me in particular, as a native sister, to present TD Jakes with a copy of NIGERIA, OUR HERITAGE…OUR COMMONWEALTH.
