Banky W ‘shuts down’ EME record label, announces “expanded” firm

Singer Bankole Wellington a.k.a Banky W has dissolved the Empire Mates Entertainment (ENE) record label he co-founded about 10 years ago.

In two Instagram posts, the singer and actor said the record label, which helped launch Wizkid’s music career, was “quietly” closed since January 2017 after deciding to restructure and change business directions.

Banky said EME has divested into creative marketing, advertising, public relations, branding, shooting of television commercials and documentaries.

He named himself, DJ Xclusive, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Tolu ‘Toolz’ Oniru, and his wife, Adesua Etomi as clients the new company was already working with.
