The Spanish FA has slammed a fine of 300 euros on FC Barcelona for being in contact with Antoine Griezmann while he was still under contract with Atletico Madrid.
The RFEF say it was “a slight breach” of article 126 of their Disciplinary Code.
Atlético Madrid maintain that the Catalan club were actively negotiating with the player at a point in time when his buyout clause was that of 200 million euro and not the reduced 120 million euro which eventually triggered his move.
The Catalan club escape the Camp Nou being closed for one game as was suggested by
Judge Juantxo Landaberea had earlier in the month suggested closing Camp Nou for one game as punishment but gave the fine as an alternative.
The fine amount is laughable but it appears to be in line with the regulations, which only allow for financial penalties of an extremely small amount.
