BREAKING: Explosion rocks Russia’s St. Petersburg Metro train, 10 people confirmed dead

There has been a suspected IED explosion inside a car of the St. Petersburg Metro system, resulting in up to 10 deaths with many injuries

According to TASS News Agency, preliminary information suggests that 10 people have died in the explosion and 30 people have been injured.

The blast is said to have involved a device filled with shrapnel, Interfax said.

According to sources, there were two blasts.

An evacuation is underway and some stations have been closed for entry.

A law enforcement source told TASS there was a blast at the Sennaya Square metro station.

Some of the images show several bodies lying next to the damaged car, with blood apparently spilt on a bench.
