The Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has announced Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, as his running mate for the 2023 presidential election.
Atiku made the announcement via his social media handles,on Thursday.
“I am delighted to announce Governor Ifeanyi A. Okowa as my Vice Presidential candidate.
“I look forward to travelling our great country together, engaging with all Nigerians and building a shared future of peace, unity, and prosperity for all. As One We Can Get It Done. #OneNigeria,” he wrote.
Earlier, Okowa was welcomed to the PDP’s headquarters in Abuja with congratulatory remarks.
Okowa was at the PDP Headquarters to attend the party’s Vice Presidential screening.
Okowa, Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, and Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel, were penciled down for screening as the party searches for a running mate for its presidential candidate.
Newspeakonline had earlier predicted that Okowa may emerge PDP’s vice presidential candidate after Atiku won the party’s presidential primaries last month.
