BREAKING: Police Service Commission sacks Lagos CP, Edgal Imohimi, from rank

The Police Service Commission (PSC), has reversed the rank of Acting Commissioner of Police given to the Police boss in Lagos, Edgal Imohimi, reports

The PSC also reversed the CP rank given to Kogi state Police boss, Ali Janga.

The two men have been returned to former ranks of DCP.

The letter dated October 8,2017, obtained by ALEDEH and titled: Withdrawal of Acting Appointment: AP:25095 Mohimi D. Edgal And AP. 36665 Aji Ali Janga, read in part:

“Our letter with Ref, No. PS/1924/COL. IX/ dated 22nd August,2017 conveying the Honourable Chairman’s anticipatory approval for the placement of the above-named officers as Acting Commissioners of Police refers, please.

“The Commission, at its 24th Plenary Meeting of 27th and 28th September, 2017 took a decision not to ratify the anticipatory approval.

“The Officers are, therefore, reverted to their substantive rank of Deputy Commisioner of Police (DCP).

“Please, accept the assurances of the Commission’s high esteem”


According to ALEDEH, another list of hundreds of officers was also returned by the commission to the police to justify why they made the list.

Also about five others who were given special appointments at that time as commissioners of police were recognized as acting CPs as the Commission is yet to confirm them.
