CBN deputy governor, Adelabu, confirmed as chairman of Oyo Security Trust Fund

The Deputy Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Chief Adebayo Adelabu, has been confirmed as chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Oyo State Security Trust Fund.

The State House of Assembly on Thursday confirmed the nomination of Adelabu and six other board members. Others confirmed are: Mr. Femi Oyedipe (as Executive Secretary), Dr. Adesola Adeduntan, Dr. Falil Ayo Abina, Engr. Femi Odumabo, Chief Abiodun Kola-Daisi and Dr. Azeez Adeduntan.

According to the Chairman, House Committee on Security, Hon. Gbenga Oyekola, when the Trust Fund was set up, telecom firm, MTN and other service providers donated fund but the funds were not accessed. He expressed satisfaction that with the board now properly constituted, the funds can be accessed for the purpose of tackling insecurity in the state.

Speaking after the confirmation hearing, Dr. Azeez Adeduntan, who represents the state government on the board, said the board would act in an advisory capacity to the state government in security matters.
